As many as 500 people crowd onto each train (there are three per day) in order to travel to the Serbian border, which is now permitted under Macedonian law. Since the new law was enacted in June, a huge increase in the numbers of people traveling the "Western Balkan route" to EU countries like Germany and Sweden, where they hope to receive asylum.
